Last week, there were 4 more events canceled in view of the coronavirus situation, the countries affected being France, USA and Canada. French convention Fauntastic’s 2020 edition is canceled and rescheduled for April next year. The con is unable to conduct refunds due to financial limitations, but they do allow participants to resell their tickets to others should they are unable to attend on the new date.
Utah convention Anthro Weekend Utah is also canceled for this year as well. All registrations for 2020 will automatically be transferred to 2021. A fundraiser page was opened to support their charity partner Wild Wonders as they are facing financial difficulties due to COVID-19. Anyone who wants to support the furcon financially can also donate through the page as well.
Canadian furcons Wild Prairie Fur Con and Anthro East Coast have announced cancellations of their edition this year, the latter citing venue difficulties. It will be held from 21-22 Aug 2021. Attendees at both furcons are able to have their registrations rolled over to next year.
In Brazil, Brazil FurFest has moved to 16-18 July next year. More details on their refunds will come soon.
So far, there are 40 cancellations, 13 postponements and 40 still on plan.
