A furry was hospitalised after getting punched in their eyes at a concert.
In this viral video shared on X titled “Dawg this is funny as hell 😭😭😭😭”, an unidentified man punched and kicked toward audience members near a mosh pit.
A fursuiter, called Latte, was in their way. The man punched hard in her eyes, fracturing their left eye socket and causing a concussion.
The video is dated Oct 16, 2023.
The incident happened in metalcore band Fromjoy’s concert in Austin, Texas, USA. They shared the video and wrote, “fromjoy is for the furries.” Furries felt the post was insensitive.
But the band did this before being told of the entire outcome, said Latte.
Furries are outraged, accusing the band for “encouraging” such behaviour. They even assumed that Latte was punched “for being a furry” – without proof.
Furries are also saying the band “laughed” at Latte’s situation in reference to the video, assuming the person who posted the video was part of Fromjoy. GFTV has contacted Fromjoy if this is true.
After the incident, Fromjoy says they have been in touch with Latte, and exploring how to best help them.
Latte also said she has “no qualms” with the band, but only with the person who assaulted them.
YouTuber Odin Wolf pointed out, furries were “calling venues” to disrupt Fromjoy’s tour plans in protest of this incident.
Toward that, Odin, Latte and Matthew, owner of one-person record label ds//fp records, called on the community to not do this, as the person who punched the fursuiter had nothing to do with the band.
At the time of publishing, Latte raised US$11k for their medical treatment. Fromjoy donated US$500 to them too.

乐队事后表示，他们在和“拿铁”联系中，探讨着如何更好地帮助他们。“拿铁”加以表示她仅对袭击自己的人有问题，而不是乐队。
油管制作人奥丁狼（Odin Wolf）指出，兽迷们为抗议此事而“向别家场地致电”，以扰乱 Fromjoy 的巡演计划。
但既然殴打兽装者的人和乐队无关，奥丁、“拿铁”和一人唱片公司 ds//fp records 所有人马修呼吁了兽圈不要这样做。
截至发稿，“拿铁”为他们的医疗费众筹到了 1.1 万美元，Fromjoy 也为他们捐赠了 500 美元。
