On October 28, 2023, one of GFTV’s Core Content Support (CCS) members collapsed due to heat exhaustion while fursuiting. They will be named ‘Ferry’ in this statement for privacy reasons.

Important details

The incident happened at the SG Cosplay Club Show, an anime event held at Harbourfront Centre, Singapore. There was a gathering of local furries who will walk around the convention venue in their fursuits there. ‘Ferry’ and a few other GFTV Team members including myself went there.

The GFTV Team has received that ‘Ferry’:

  1. is about to wear and move around in his fursuit for his first time;
  2. Had skipped breakfast and lunch before the convention;
  3. Had drank at least 500ml of fluids and at least 15 minutes of rest before each fursuit walking session;
  4. Was conscious after collapsing, and tended to by other furries and members of GFTV’s Team; and
  5. Was transported to the hospital within the next hour.

On behalf of ‘Ferry’, I apologise for any inconvenience caused. We have since made a fursuit safety manual for future use by our team and at our Community Events (CE.). We will guarantee that safety will come first in all of our operations.

Bullying incidents in this incident’s aftermath

The GFTV Team also notes that as a result of this incident, ‘Ferry’ was mocked by other furries. We received that he was mocked for this incident on October 28, 2023, and his mental health special need.

Afterward, the GFTV Team received a threat of violence against ‘Ferry’. This threat was made by a furry who attended to this CCS member when he collapsed on October 28, 2023. For security reasons, we will name them ‘Scone’.

Our investigations reveal that ‘Scone’ made this threat orally via a private Discord call in witness of an GFTV officer. For security reasons, we will not reveal who this officer witness is. The threat detailed, if ‘Ferry’ faints once again, ‘Scone’ will shoot them with a modified toy blaster gun. This resulted in a community alert in GFTV’s Communities dated Nov 25, 2023.

While perceptions about ‘Ferry”s heat exhaustion incident differ, GFTV stands that it is zero-tolerant of bullying regardless of reason. Given ‘Ferry”s mental health special need, the GFTV Team is committed to support him.

We are in full communication with ‘his ‘Ferry”s family to support our efforts in supporting him. ‘Ferry”s family is aware of people bullying him in wake of this incident.

鉴于国际兽圈电视核心内容支持团队（CCS）队员中暑事件的声明

2023年10月28日，兽视核心内容支持团队（CCS）的一名成员在穿着兽装时因中暑晕倒。为了保护隐私，我们将在这份声明中称其为“小罗”。

事件详情

事件发生在新加坡港湾中心举办的动漫活动 SG Cosplay Club Show 上。当时有一群当地兽迷计划穿着兽装在会场内活动。小罗和其他几位兽视团队成员，包括我自己，也参加了这次聚会。

兽视团队了解到小罗的情况如下：

  • 这是他第一次穿兽装并四处走动；
  • 在参加活动前他没有吃早餐和午餐；
  • 在每次兽装行走之前，他至少喝了 500 毫升的水，并休息了至少 15 分钟；
  • 晕倒后他意识清醒，并得到了其他兽迷和兽视团队成员的照顾；
  • 在接下来的一个小时内被送往医院。

我代表小罗为此次事件造成的任何不便表示歉意。此后，我们制定了兽装安全手册，供兽视团队在未来的活动和兽视社区活动（CE）中使用。我们将确保在所有行动中安全第一。

事件后续的霸凌事件

兽视团队还注意到，由于这次事件，小罗遭到了其他兽迷的嘲笑。我们得知，他在2023年10月28日因这次事件和他的心理健康特殊需求而受到嘲笑。

之后，兽视团队收到了针对小罗的暴力威胁。这一威胁是由一位在 2023 年 10 月 28 日小罗晕倒时曾照顾过他的兽迷发出的。为了安全起见，我们将称其为“西瓜”。

我们的调查显示，西瓜是在一位兽视官员在场的情况下，通过私下 Discord 通话口头发出这一威胁的。为了安全起见，我们不会透露这位官员的身份。威胁的具体内容是，如果小罗再次晕倒，西瓜将用改装过的玩具枪射他。这导致了兽视社区于 2023 年 11 月 25 日发布的社区警报。

虽然对于小罗中暑事件的看法各不相同，但兽视坚决反对以任何理由进行的霸凌行为。鉴于小罗的心理健康特殊需求，兽视团队致力于为他提供支持。

我们正与小罗的家人保持沟通，以支持我们为他提供的帮助。小罗的家人已经知晓他在这次事件后受到霸凌的情况。
