As March comes to a close, furries around southeast Asia “went back to school” for a weekend in the Thai capital of Bangkok.
Well at least, that was the furry convention’s theme this year. It is “Thaitails 2024: Unifursity”
Even receptionists at the furcon’s venue geared themselves up to welcome Thaitails.
First off, just like university students, attendees at Thaitails Unifursity each got a specially designed attendee pass.
The furcon’s dealers’ den saw 42 booths helmed by regional artists, fursuit makers and representatives from furcons like Taiwan’s FurMIT.
The furcon also filled its massive main hall with a fursuit parade before the group photo.
Among the fursuiters’ symphony of colour are two special guests.
First is Thaitails’ guest of honour, Patt Jewanarom. He is a Thai furry animator and artist specialising in two-dimensional (2D) works.
According to the furcon’s web page, Mr. Patt has previously worked in animated productions such as Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course and Klaus, an animated film released in 2019.
Mr. Patt also occasionally livestreams himself playing games or drawing art on Twitch.
The second special guest is Gintan, a Chinese furry known for his dancing performances in fursuit. He danced on stage at Thaitails 2024.
Gintan added on his Twitter page, he did so as a “special guest”. His presence at the furcon attracted many selfies together.
Thaitails Unifursity arranged 13 classes and a talent show for their attendees. There was a space for tabletop games too.
Thaitails’ talent show performance saw 24 entrants. They sang, danced and performed skits.
After two days of “school”, Thaitails closed with a series of music performances and rave.
This is the furcon’s biggest event yet. They also donated the most money to charity yet.
今年的泰国兽展 Thaitails 举办历来最大活动
三月接近尾声。同时，东南亚兽迷们花了一周末在泰国首都曼谷“重返校园”。
至少，这是今年泰国兽展 Thaitails 的主题。今年的主题充斥着校园风味。
就连兽展会场的接待员也为这个“毛兽学校”的来临做好了准备。
就像大学生一样，兽展的与会者们都有一张特别设计的通行证。
兽展的摊位间有 42 个展位，由地区艺术家、裘皮服制造商和来自台湾 FurMIT 等兽展的代表经营。
在合影之前，兽展还在其偌大的主会场举行了一场兽装游行。
在兽装者的色彩交响乐中，有两位特别人物。
第一位是兽展贵宾（guest of honour）帕特 · 朱瓦纳罗姆（Patt Jewanarom）。他是一位来自泰国擅长二维（2D）作品的毛兽动画师和艺术家。
据兽展的网页，帕特先生曾在《茶杯头：美味的最后一道菜》的游戏下载包和 2019 年上映的动画电影《Klaus》的制作中工作。
帕特先生偶尔也会在 Twitch 上直播自己玩游戏或绘画。
第二位是银碳（Gintan），一位以穿着兽装跳舞而闻名的中国兽迷。他在兽展上表演了一场舞蹈。
据银碳一则推文，他是以“特邀来宾”（special guest）的身份上台表演的。他的出现吸引了许多人前来与他一起自拍。
兽展为与会者安排了 13 堂课和一门才艺表演秀，其中现场还设有桌面游戏区。
兽展的才艺表演有 24 人参加。他们的演出包括唱歌、跳舞和短剧表演。
两天的”在校活动”结束后，Thaitails 举办了一系列音乐表演和狂欢活动。
这是兽展迄今为止规模最大的一次活动。他们也是迄今为止向慈善机构捐款最多的一次。
