Furry Tea Party (FTP) held its “Nocturnal Furade” (portmanteau of ‘furry’ and ‘parade’) event for 2025 at the Kaohsiung Public Main Library on Feb 22 and 23.

They also worked with the furry doujinshi (self-published print works) convention “BeastAges,” allowing attendees to support creators at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center on the second day.

This year’s event attracted 1,215 attendees. Including that figure, the library venue recorded 28,533 visitors.

The theme revolved around a conflict between exorcists and spirits (yokai). Through thematic games, participants could choose to join either side and accumulate points through tasks to climb the rankings.

The event was opened by Lightbulb (灯泡, @wdslight), who explained the event details and important notes. This was followed by Reim’s (雷伊姆) “Dance of Blessing” and a duet performance by Reim and Nomu (诺姆).

This year’s event also invited the Taiwan Guide Dog Association to give a presentation, sharing knowledge about guide dogs. Plus, the “Furry Stories in Taiwan” panel featured Hiyou (洋洋), a local veteran furry fan with over a decade of experience.

There were a total of eight panels offering various experience sharing opportunities for attendees.

Unlike previous years, the routine daytime fursuit parade at Formosa Boulevard MRT station was replaced with a nighttime parade, in line with the event’s theme.

Attendees carrying lanterns departed from the Kaohsiung Main Public Library and walked along the pedestrian route, passing by Far Eastern Department Store, Kaohsiung Yicheng Temple, and the 85 Sky Tower before returning to the starting point.

The route was approximately 1.5 kilometers, attracting many onlookers along the way.

This year’s charity raffle featured 18 prizes and raised a total of NTD 140,850 (approximately SGD 5,870), which will be donated to the Taiwan Guide Dog Association after the event.

At the closing ceremony, the next year’s theme was revealed: “Hunters’ Feast.” Organisers will announce further event information at a later date.
