On 14 February (Saturday), Singaporean furry news and community platform Global Furry Television (GFTV) held its first cross-border furmeet in Malaysia.
GFTV designated the event as Community Event 26 (CE26) – “Thrift Galore”. It marks the organisation’s 26th official furmeet and serves as a pilot initiative under Project Starlight (PSL).
GFTV organised CE26 in consultation with Malaysian furry community group Nation Of The Furs (NOTF).
For CE26, GFTV led a delegation from Singapore to Johor Bahru, crossing the approximately 1km-long Johor–Singapore Causeway.
Participants spent the day with Malaysian furries at Jalan Jalan Japan (JJJ), a Malaysian thrift store chain that sells second-hand goods imported from Japan.

In the evening, attendees suited up at a nearby mall before heading for dinner together. Fireworks in the area — unrelated to the event — coincidentally marked the close of the day’s programme.
Leonal, GFTV’s Events Assistant Director and lead organiser for CE26, thanked participants for supporting the pilot event.
Several attendees even travelled from Kuala Lumpur — more than 300 kilometres from Johor Bahru — to take part in the furmeet.
CE26 represents GFTV’s first organised cross-border event and forms part of ongoing efforts under Project Starlight to strengthen regional engagement within the Southeast Asian furry community.
