Pine Fur Con announces closure

On June 19, 2019, Pine Fur Con had announced that they were pulling the plug on the convention due to a lack of funding.

Hi everyone,

I have some news about PFC. Unfortunately, even with how successful PFC was these past two years, I have to regretfully inform you that PFC is coming to an end. The convention did not make enough to sustain running. The board and myself have exhausted all of our resources and we have tried everything to keep this going. I apologize and thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support and love that you have given us. Please remember all of the great memories and the great things we have done for the community.

Thank you,

Haunter Husky

Chairman, Pine Fur Con

– Full statement of PFC closure

Pine Fur Con was formed with two ideas together – one to create a New Hampshire fur con and another to create one in Maine.

Pine Fur Con’s first convention was held at the DoubleTree Hotel in South Portland, Maine on April 27-29, 2018, which was themed “Heroes and Villains”. There were 406 attendees and they raised a total of $3,400 for Short Folks of Hope, a cancer support charity located in Oxford Hills, Maine.

It was continued on to this year which took place again at the DoubleTree on April 5-7, 2019. Themed “Disco Infurno” (aka “The 70s”), the attendee count was 573 and they raised $8,397.37 for Short Folks of Hope, before they announced closure on June 19 2 months later.
